Zonamerica Collection

The Zonamerica Collection was officially presented, a unique exhibition featuring more than fifty works by the Italian-Uruguayan master Lino Dinetto, displayed alongside pieces by great masters of Uruguayan painting. This collection, safeguarded for decades by Orlando Dovat, founder and president of Zonamerica, is now being shared with the community as a cultural contribution that transcends the business sphere.

A campus where art is part of everyday life

Since its inception, the campus has promoted creativity, innovation and cultural diversity as pillars of a vibrant community. The Zonamerica Collection reflects this spirit: it not only preserves the work of great masters, but also integrates them into the buildings and spaces where thousands of people work and move every day.

In this way, collaborators, visitors and companies coexist daily with the beauty, sensitivity and history conveyed by these pieces, turning art into a bridge that connects people and into an essential element of the campus’ identity.

A collection built over decades

For Orlando Dovat, the collection was not a premeditated project, but the natural evolution of his personal connection with art. Over the years he assembled works acquired at auctions, galleries, private sales and even in the artists’ own studios—among them Dinetto, with whom he developed a close friendship.

The collection includes works by different generations of Uruguayan creators such as Manuel Pailós, José Gamarra, José Gurvich, Cecilia Mattos, Gonzalo Fonseca, Pedro Figari and José Luis Zorrilla de San Martín, among others.

Lino Dinetto: a master of color

Born in Italy in 1927 and settled in Uruguay since 1951, Dinetto is a key figure in modern Uruguayan art. His work blends the power of the landscape with spiritual and sensual dimensions, distinguished by an unmistakable chromatic intensity. He was a muralist, teacher, director of the Institute of Fine Arts, and author of monumental frescoes in temples and iconic buildings throughout the country.

He exhibited internationally, including at the São Paulo Museum of Modern Art in 1959. Over time, his language evolved toward a freer, more material painting, exploring new textures and compositions. In 2007, the National Museum of Visual Arts presented the retrospective “Dinetto. Master of Color”, promoted by Orlando Dovat and forming the basis of much of the collection on display today on the campus.

On the production and curatorship of the exhibition

The production and curatorship of the Collection were carried out by ART/CO, led by Elaiza Pozzi and Verónica Parrado, who oversaw the selection, organization and installation of the works. Their work enabled the creation of a curatorial journey that highlights the sensitivity, chromatic force and dialogue among the featured artists, integrating each piece into the spirit of the campus and enhancing the experience of those who visit the exhibition.

An open invitation to the community

The inauguration of the Zonamerica Collection marks a cultural milestone on campus, reaffirming its commitment to fostering experiences that enrich the lives of collaborators, companies and visitors.

The exhibition invites the community to rediscover art from a close, everyday and inspiring perspective, weaving it into the rhythm of the environment that surrounds it.
