Last Saturday, February 28, the first edition of the Wellness Festival took place at Zonamerica, an open event dedicated to movement, health, and wellbeing. The gathering was organized by Life Zonamerica and brought together hundreds of people, including members, employees from companies on campus, and individuals interested in an active lifestyle. The event invited participants to experience a full afternoon of activities combining physical exercise, specialized content, and opportunities to connect, all within the unique setting of the Zonamerica campus. In addition, the pleasant weather provided ideal conditions to fully enjoy the various outdoor activities.Throughout the festival, a range of sports and recreational activities designed for all levels took place. One of the highlights was the team race, where participants faced stations featuring both intense physical challenges and more playful tasks, encouraging teamwork and a strong sense of community.A Backyard race was also held — a resistance format that is increasingly popular worldwide — in which runners must complete laps of 6.7 kilometers within one hour. On this occasion, seven laps were completed, with the winner being the participant who finished the final lap in the shortest time. The festival also included activities specially designed for adult participants, featuring an outdoor circuit through the park that combined movement with different physical challenges. The program also incorporated activities in the Life Zonamerica pool, adding experiences connected to water and the enjoyment of the surroundings. From a more holistic perspective of wellbeing, the festival included a yoga experience in nature, held in one of the most distinctive spaces on campus. The day concluded with a moment dedicated to slowing down and reconnecting with calm through gong baths. In addition to the physical activities, the festival also featured a series of talks focused on health and wellbeing, with specialists addressing different aspects of holistic care:• Dr. Daniela Fernández, who shared key insights for a longer and healthier life.• Dr. Betina Tassino, with the talk “Timing Matters: Biological Clock and Wellbeing”, exploring how light, sleep, and daily rhythms impact our health.• The CEI nutrition team, who presented “Eating for Life”, about the importance of nutrition at different stages of life.• Psychologist Camila Suárez, who led a discussion titled “The Map of Wellbeing”, exploring how to move from perfection to what is truly possible. The day concluded with a closing after event, where participants shared a relaxed moment to celebrate the festival, thank everyone for their participation, and present awards to the winners of both the team race and the Backyard race. The Wellness Festival is thus emerging as an initiative that promotes healthy habits, strengthens community, and brings people closer to tools that help improve quality of life, integrating physical activity, knowledge, and shared experiences.“We believe that wellbeing is built in community. This festival seeks precisely that: to create spaces where movement, knowledge, and connection come together to help people live better,” said representatives from Life Zonamerica, who also highlighted Zonamerica’s support in making this first edition possible.
